Need a lightweight crank for my new gravel build.
It's a 1x11 build on a BSA BB frame. I want to use 110 5 arm chain rings so looking at
Possibly the SRAM force 1. Also looking at Rotor cranks in BSA.
What else is worth a look?
why 5 arm and not direct mount?
Go direct mount. Bolt fixings are so 2014
Simple really. Can't find any decent rings with 40, 42, or 44 teeth.
Rotor cx1 or middleburn
Absolute Black do decent rings for direct mount in those sizes
Wolf tooth go right up to 50t in round/oval/5 bolt/dm
Ok, still need a crank and I'd still rather 5 arm.
Could always go Dura Ace!
Old 6800? I did consider that.
Sorry 7800
Should be able to pick some up. Rotor or middleburn still tops for me.
Someone on ebay was selling new Shimano 105 5750 and Tiagra 4650 cranks only at a decent price. Think the 105s were 45 quid.
Might be worth it it you're just going to bang your own chainring on the crank anyway.
Probably rotor for me too. Annoyingly I have a bb30 rotor but with the converter BB it won't fit in the BSA frame due to axel length.
BB "standards" are starting to boil my piss.... gurrrrrrrrrrr
