Hey guys, this is the first time I've used air forks, so please forgive my ignorance.
Exactly how noisy should these be? They are making quite a bit of a noise on the rebound whenever a decent amount of travel is involved. I have also noticed that the rebound setting affects just how 'vocal' they are, when set to a slow rebound they are especially noisy, when fast it cuts down on the noise a great deal.
The forks themselves seem to be holding PSI just fine, and feel ok, I'm just a little conserned about the sound they are making, it is especially noticable if I preload and then lift the front wheel totally off the ground so that they can fully extend.
Any advice?
Cheers,
Steve
I suppose I should be a little more specific, I suppose I can only describe the sound as a dull rasp perhaps?
There is no evidence of any leaking around any seals, and as I said, they seem to be holding pressure just fine. โ
Anybody?
My Revs were a bit raspy when they were new but got quieter with use. Nothing to worry about imo.
I had rebas on a trek, they did make a slight fluidy noise on the rebound and compression, I just figured it was the relevent circuits working, because they were new and worked perfectly, never lost any air or fluids at all, rebound and compression gates worked perfectly and the forks were buttery smooth so I wasnt overly concerned. I'd be more concerned about rattles, clunks and knocking noises.
If as you say the noise increases when you slow down the rebound, it suggests its just the noise of the oil flow being restricted correctly just as its supposed to. Great forks btw
they all do that

Thanks guys, that's very omforting.
Aside from 'farting' on the rebound they feel incredible, I'm just glad it's nothing to worry about. ๐
