Just fitted my new Reba Teams this afternoon. It's my first time with air sprung forks so I inflated them using the guide pressures from Rockshox. Straight off they feel a bit too firm. I've read some setup hints on various sites so I'm understand how tweaking the +ve and -ve chambers will affect the feel. Are there alternative recommended air pressures anywhere? I read that the RS guide pressures were crap and I know I could experiment but I'd rather start from a good start point and go from there.
I weigh 200lbs ( ๐ณ )
i tend to keep mine the same pressure top and bottom (you might think that if you have a higher negative pressure it will be more supple but actuially on the 2 dual air ones I've had it just feels rubbish).
But I think either I am not trying hard enough, or RS reccommended pressures are higher than they should be. I would just try dropping both in equal amounts.
also if they are brand new they might get more supple with time. Alas I have not fitted a brand new fork since 2006 so I am not sure if this still happens.
I've got 2008 Reba Team Dual Air U-turns and use 155 psi in + & -
I think that ties up with the suggestions on the fork legs & they seem about right. I tried a bit more once, but then I don't get full travel & if I use them with less then they are way too bouncy.
I weigh only a couple of pounds short of 200 like you, and I run my reba race with 120mm travel at 130psi in the top and 135psi in the bottom with the rebound damper set one full turn off the rabbit ๐
For ages I was following the guide pressures which in hind sight were far to stiff and I wasnt making best use of the fork. I dont think I ever bottom'd them out. I still dont think ive felt them hit the travel limmit at the lower pressure, but the elastic band says otherwise lol 8)
