Because if you go out on Monday night, ride through farm tracks and other such muddy delights, then plonk the bike in the garage, and don't return to the garage until Thursday evening....all the cow/dog/human excrement that has cemented itself to your bike will also make the garage stink like a festering cess pit of vomit-inducing proportions......

My 5 bikes all live in my room...at least it masks the smell of my feet.
I picked up 6 bags of fairly fresh horse manure in my van last weekend, none of which were very watertight. I feel your pain. ๐

If you keep your bike indoors then use fork juice it will make your bikes and house smell lovely, you can't beat the smell of fork juice in the morning.
Well it did get a good ol' clean this afternoon and it's sparkly and smells nice now...just a shame I've been too busy until now to do it!
