My gfriend has a problem with her rear mech (Shimano Deore Long Cage) on her Giant Talon 2.

The problem is it keeps bashing the frame on some bumpy sections. It is starting to scratch the paint and it also sounds damn awful when riding.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Solution:

All you need is a section cut from an old tyre and a zip tie.

Also check the B-tension screw is tight enough (the one at the back of the mech - tighten it to add more tension which moves the mech further away from the chainstay)

+1 Defo - that will increase sprint tension and help to retract the mech body in a rear/down direction thus less likely to hit the chain stay ๐Ÿ™‚
