Just a quick question.

Firstly, these ratchet mini tools, like the Topeak one, are they any good? Seem pretty compact for the stuff you can do with it. Also, am I imagining things or is there a cheaper brand version than that Topeak one? Quick Google returns nothing but I'm certain I've seen one, maybe on here?

Cheers!

Could be worth you checking out this months Practical Performance Car mag, they've got a test on bit and driver sets.

I've used the Ratchet Rocket for a couple of years. The bits are the usual Topeak standard (relatively decent), although I swapped the 5mm and 6mm (most used) for some nice Wera ones, and the ratchet is also of a good standard. My reservations for buying cheap copies would be that the ratchet mechanism might be sloppy or not very durable. I think that the ratchet tool is ergonomically much better than the usual multi-tool 'block' and would not hesitate to recommend one.

Nice to use in the workshop but I prefer the swiss army knife style tools for trailside use.

It's intended as a trail tool, not a shop tool.
