MY BF has trouble with his bars because of an old wrist/hand injury. Has anyone tried the Carnegie Bars? Would like to know what you think of them.
i tried them, but did not persevere with them.
they will ease wrist pain. plenty wide too
I tried them too but didn't keep them.
They were comfortable but then I didn't have any wrist pain before.
Just didn't feel quite as much in control with them.
Thanks Ton and James. I think he will probably try them anyway. I b ought those Ergon grips for my all day bike and they help a lot.
Anyone have any Ragley bars seconhand? If not we will probably get new ones. Worth a try.
On-One Mary bars helped my wife's wrist & shoulder problems lots. Try them.
I used to run Mary's and swapped to the Carnegies as there is less sweep. I have a plate in my wrist and found the mary's too much (like riding pushing a wheelbarrow). The zero lift carnegies are fine and about 1/2 as much sweep with my wrist.
Has anyone ever tried to put Bar ends on the Carnegie bar. I have those little Ergon bar ends and absolute love them. However, I do appreciate the sweep and would like to get a Carnegie, so would like to combine them both. Would this be possible?
Has anyone ever tried to put Bar ends on the Carnegie bar.
Under the new CEN EU regs, this is actually illegal. Sorry.
so it's not just the fashion police who would shoot you then?
I'd love to see a policeman stop you and fine you for that! 😛
Brant, could you, would you please design a handlebar that has a sweep and can take bar ends? No idea how you would do it, but I'd buy one instantly :-).
BTW what is the exact wording of the CEN EU rules, is it for all handlebars with a sweep?
