So have a night booked tomorrow at Borrowdale, will be doing Whinlatter tomorrow afternoon ish ( never been) and then need something for the day after for two to three hours any suggestions?

Needs not to be full on or long or big climbs as I am recovering from two bouts of pleurisy in 4 months so lungs destroyed at the moment but something enjoyable ( discounted Borrowdale bash)

Cheers

Just go round Derwen****er? fairly flat and plenty of opportunites for a spot of off-road in one direction or another. Or for a bit more scenic but with a bit of a drive first, round Buttermere and alongside crummock water for a bit and back or cheeky all the way round. OR with a bit more driving, alongside Ennerdale to Blacksail YHA and back again, that would be the quietest and entirely offroad if you start at the carpark at the end.

The loop round Loughrigg Terrace is really pleasant, halfway between Ambleside and Keswick.

That's the route we do when we have a mixed abilities group with beginners and experienced riders who want a decent ride. The hill about a third of the way round is vicious, but there's no shame in pushing.

It certainly is. Last time I ground my way up it I was getting lapped by someone doing hill reps. Finding out she's a former winner of the 3P CX was scant consolation.

Another option near Ambleside might be Claife Heights, it's a convoluted to get the best descents but easy enough to short cut things if you feel you are running out of time.

How about doing the Borrowdale bash tomorrow then Whinlatter as the 2/3 hour session the day after.

+1 Claife Heights, did it yesterday as part of a bigger ride - just what you're after and a nice contrast with Whinlatter.
