I bought SLX and XTR as I don't know which one to use. Does anyone know why the XTR came with an extra aluminium part (pictured below) but the SLX didn't? Is it missing from the SLX one?

XTR from Merlin

SLX from Sport & Leisure

The steel captive nut fits into the recess in the brake lever to allow you to bolt the shifter on. Both should come with them.

Assuming those are 12speed use the xtr. Has dual release changing down while slx is only single (both dual release changing up).

Thank you both. XTR it is!

Special mention for Sport & Leisure who swiftly sent a pre paid RM label for the SLX.
