Are they similar to MTB in that you can get top, bottom or dual pull?

Good question, I think they're all bottom pull. Not 100% sure, though all the road bikes I've ever owned were bottom pull.
Reason I think that is that some CXers run the cable from the top, but then require a little pulley wheel to convert the pull to bottom pull?

They are all bottom pull, although there are adaptors - CX pulley style or Speen.

Cheers for replies.. was wondering why there was no reference to pull when browsing online. Now just need to work out why the mech I have doesn't work in my bottom pull hybrid frame!!
