I'm planning on pulling the trigger on some Spank Spikes. Are there any cheaper options worth looking at that have a similar, low-profile design?

I need to order them quickly as I am off on hols on Friday.

Superstar Nanotech Flats.
Fantastic pedals and half the price of them fancy-schmancy ones...

Not as low-profile as the Spanks/Point One Podiums, are they?

Wear thinner shoes 😀

They're pretty thin... how thin do you require?

Superstar are 17mm, Spanks are 12mm, so thats 2.5mm each side...
I don't really think thats an issue whatsoever....

They're not but they're pretty low-profile - depends if 5mm is worth £45 to you I guess 🙂

It's just that I'm used to using Point One Podiums, which are only 11mm thick, but are also pretty close to the crank. The only others I can find that are similar are the Spanks.

The bike they are going on, an SX trail, has a pretty low BB, so thin pedals are an advantage.

True, but 2.5mm really isn't going to make an awful lot of difference. Its about the thickness of an ameoba's neck.

I just like the feel of ultra-thin pedals too.

Buy the Spank Spikes then. Is that what you wanted us to tell you? 🙂

By all accounts same as new HT AE01, but easier to find...

DMR Vaults, not quite as thin, but better than everything else.

No, I wanted, as I said my OP, for some alternative suggestions, if there are any.

Those Vaults appear to be ridiculously expensive for what they are.

I exfoliate the soles of my feet before I ride, that 0.5mm makes all the difference and my girlfriend loves it
