How have i come this far with several bikes on sram eagle and never noticed or had a problem with the quick-link connector being the wrong way around?
I've just spent weeks checking/switching the freehub, cassette, shifter and derailleur because of skipping in top gear.
Turns out the quick-link has a direction that I cannot see a difference with - and causes skipping every few spins.
Nightmare - solved.

You mean you have never noticed the direction arrow on the link? I do like to watch the SRAM videos when changing components. There’s quite a few handy tips within the videos.
Sram eagle quick links are arch shaped aren't they so the sides don't lift the rollers off the smaller sprockets in the correct orientation?
I knew Shimano 12 speed chain and links are directional. Not aware of any others

Ohhhh. I wonder. I've had an issue with my 12s shimano skipping slightly when one sprocket down from top... Chain seemed to be just slightly catching on the 'uplift' bit of the cassette.
Shimano 12s chains have a right way around - ie text on the outside. maybe I've missed the direction. Have always been confused with the quick link arrow as it only seemed possible to fit one way....

The arrow on the quick-link points the way the chain moves, on curved 12 eagle chains, the power-lock should be smiling at you at the bottom of the drivetrain, and frowny at the top.
