FS MTB and fitting a new chain as I have always been hardtail what do I need to do to get the chain length correct? Its happening right now so no answers on a postcard please!

Chain around largest front & rear sprockets & add a link.
Job done.

On a full sus? depends on the design if the hub moves away from the BB I would have thought
