[Closed] Quest for an aggro short travel trail frame

Does anyone have any suggestions for a frame like this?

-Slackish HA, shortish chainstays
-Fairly light (possibly carbon)
-not 29er (26" preferable)
-100-130mm rear travel
-Will take a 140mm fork

I'm trying to find a sweet spot between a Stanton hardtail and 2012 NukeProof Mega (built up quite butch). I love the handling of the HT on more mellow local trails but a bit of rear squish will aid traction, control and my back.

Something like the 2015 Commencal Meta Trail comes close (not available yet). Would have to be brave to trust one of these not to crack based on past experience however!

Thanks!

I got exactly what your describing but doubt you'll find one anymore,
It's called an Intense Spider the alloy version.

Slack HA, 115mm/127mm rear travel with recommended fork of 140mm
And seems to have shirt stays and is a whole heap of fun!
Oh and it's a 26" tapered HT fyi.

If you want, I'll post a pic up for ya!

not tried one but shit hot reviews at the time, unfortunately got swallowed up when the 650 bandwagon rolled into town

Indeed, my hubby has a Mega Tr and has been dead happy with it, apart from the squeaking.
684 quid.

If you are under 6ft then the GT distortion. 110mm travel with a 66deg head angle.

Only 2nd hand though.....

Blur TRc frames occasionally pop up on eBay for reasonable prices.

I test rode one two summer's ago and loved it. They were silly money second hand still at the time so I got a LTc instead.

Every time I see one I am seriously tempted...

You need this: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/banshee-rampant-2

Maybe.

There are tons of alternatives, but as I've now got 2 Rampants (OH claimed one as her own so I got another) I'm a little biased ๐Ÿ™‚

Santa Cruz Blur or the Nukeproof Mega TR sound like good choices.

How about a Transition Bandit 26? I think on paper has similar angles to the Mega TR maybe very slightly steeper angles. Its got a fun, pop off every little dirt mound kinda ride.

Again it'll have to be 2nd hand, new one is 650B.

New or old?
GT Distortion rides nice, Knoa Howler, Specialized SX, Blur 4x or similar, Spesh P-Slope, Commencal meta 4X(get the long one as the short one is tiny), Orange Blood, Transition double (again get the long one), Bottle Rocket, there are loads. Some of the older ones might need offset bushes or angle reducing headsets.

Banshee rampant for the win ๐Ÿ˜‰

Long or short sizes giving 14" or 12" seat tube length. You could get a 30.9mm dropper post in there no problem which would give adequate extension for trail pedalling.

Wicked frame 100mm travel excellent pedalling with active braking, designed for slopes type so will take a beating without flinching

Had 2 rampants, run with u-turn pike 110-140mm
