I've just bought a new Pure Racing i900 and was looking forward to trying it out this weekend, however on opening the box i was a bit disappointed to find that it has a very long minimum insertion depth (around 125mm). My problem is that i already run a 410mm Thompson near the max mark.
Now I know Thompson seat posts have a very small min insertion depth, however the amount required on the i900 just seems excessive. Has anyone had any experience with running an i900/i950 about 20mm past the min insertion mark? This would still give 105mm of engagement which is what most other seat post manufacturers require. I undertstand this will void the warranty, however it seems the only option for me rather than sending the whole thing back, unused.
If not suggestions for other long extendable seatposts would be most welcome!
