Looking around to replace the bike carrier that got wrecked in last weeks "incident" and found these proride 591 for £57.49

http://www.rackshackuk.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=11319

Service was good too. Ordered yesterday, delivered today.

The cheapest I found the Proride 598 was Chain Reaction Cycles at £84.95. tempted, but cost was too much of a factor and I've been happy with the 591's to date.

If you add delivery onto rackshackuk, then they end up more expensive than all the ones on ebay which have been 59.88 delivered for ages!

Thule Proride (the new one) has a torque-limited clamp, so if you're running plastic bikes, this might be a consideration for the newer version.

That said, I've never broken a plastic frame in a 591, despite years of trying.

I recently picked up a brand new Thule 598 from the volvopartsshop.com for £70. It has a volvo logo on it instead of a Thule one but apart from that is exactly the same. The 598's are much better than the 591, which I also have.

I got mine a year or two ago for about the same, but ordered in Halfords and got them to price match. Just had to show them on my phone that I could get them for that price (less than half what they were selling them for ore price match).

It's a funny one the owld Volvo parts shop. I've got a Thule Euroclasic g-whatsit in the garage that was a good £50 cheaper than anywhere else a few years back cos it's got Volvo written on the side! Mounted on a Beemer naturally..
