Press fit is no issue, ive just fitted a pair of press fit adapter cups and now happily running my standard Hope HT2 type BB on my Evo.

Its where the bearings sit in a cup inside the BB shell. They are pressed in.

As opposed to the usual HT2 BB arrangement of them sitting in a cup on the outside of the shell.

Some bikes have lots of issues, due to crap design (Lapierre). Others have none.

In my experience, it's easier to change the bearings on a press fit BB. You can knock the old ones out with a punch & tap the new ones in with a block of wood & a mallet. The cup tends to stay in the frame.

The supposed benefit is the shell is wider & thus stiffer.
