Jeez! Ordered some about 2 weeks ago at £9.99 and thought I was getting a bargain.

Two things I like about these valves:

- you can tighten them with an allen key

- one of the caps has a built in valve remover tool

are they fully alloy? I've had terrible issues with alloy valves clogging up that I don't get with cheap rubberised valves

Unfortunately these are not insert compatible ones - unless you get your hacksaw out (hence cheap).

I was gonna buy a few pairs but that stopped me.

No, was in the middle of a turbo session 😂

Actually need valves, was just checking if these were anything by fancy (ala Project76) or just fairly standard

None in black for the mtb though which is a bummer.  Ordered some oil slick ones to replace the long ones on my roadie aero wheels.

Oh, do STW make any money out of this through their "skimlinks" thing? Hope so!

PSA, get a pack of spare Joe's No Flats inserts instead. Much cheaper 😀

Have spare valve inserts so that when they clog, you just swap the insert out and keep the old valve stem.

@keithb

Yes, STW make money through some convoluted referral scheme. Mark mentioned it in the Cost Of Living sticky thread that’s at the top of the forum. There was a PSA for some forks he mentioned, just by going the the skimlink in the thread they made a couple of hundred pounds I think.

Every little helps.

Another tip given to us by a team mechanic on the Enduro circuit. A little spurt of silicon spray on the valve insert whilst removed will stop most if not all of the clogging of the valve insert. Never had one fail since then.

That is so obvious that I can’t believe I never thought of it. Thanks!
