We will be in touch
We're looking for a 4 bike carrier, was going to order the Atera Strada at £400ish but Halfords have their "equivalent" on special for £129 down from £230, at the moment. Ordered one, if it's not quite good enough I doubt I'll lose much selling it on.
Anyone have/had one and can comment on it?
It won't be quite as polished, but at £270 less, as long as it works, surely?
Thanks for that. Just what I was looking for to chop and change for the garage on our campervan when it arrives. A lot cheaper than modifying our Thule one. Pick it up on Saturday but will need a run out as nothing local.
Damn, i dont even have a tow bar and i'm close to buying one
I only have a three rack , its to heavy for my car [ total nose weight load] and even I am tempted
if it weighs less than my current rack I will get that
Worth watching the video.
Quite good you can take the wheel supports off so if you have 2 bikes you can ditch the extras and keep the bikes nicely spaced.
Removable handle to lock it seems a good idea.
Not sure on the tilt mechanism. Make sure the nut it done up tight so it doesnt vibrate off and get lost.
Supports look much better than the cheaper Thule ones with the sliding foam. But harder to lock your bike to it than the loop support Thules.
Just watched the video, looks like I wont need to get the grinder onto it. Think I can dismantle at the tilt and just remove the lighting board. Got a couple of the Thule 4 bike clamps to use to hold the bikes apart with some thick flooring stuff between them. Just need the camper now.
Does anyone have one? How do the wheel holders manage with bigger tyre sizes? Got an Automaxi one from Decathlon and the plastic wheel carriers have all split from squeezing bigger tyres in there. These do look to be a bit more substantial to be fair, but real world experience would be good. Also, will it really manage 4 full size MTB's? Or will they be too close to each other to fit properly? I had to "adjust" the automaxi one to space out each bike carrier a bit to stop the last two bikes from ending up leaning at an angle off the back.
Cheers.
Not available for delivery to local store 🙄
Nearest = 150ml round trip ❗
I am on my 3rd reservation now, the first two stores that I ordered from had apparently been purchased before the order was picked..... Strange that one of them was overnight!
Picked ours up from the Gainsborough store this morning. After enquiring if it would take a 2.3 tyre the girl asked the wheel diameter size because that determined the width of a 2.3 tyre and not the actual width. First impessions when lifting the box was that it felt alot heavier than our Thule one. Got it home and even after dismantling it from the tilting fastening mech, which we dont need it still feels heavy. Its now fully built to go in the garage in the camper and Im sure it will serve its purpose of securing the bikes, it may need the uprights modifying. For the price its well worth a punt. Quality and fittings wise its not in the same league as the Thule. If I was buying to fit it on the towbar to put four bikes on then I would buy another Thule without any hesitation.
