Ordered. Cheers!
I am not entirely convinced I need this sort of thing for the kind of riding I do, but they are quite useful to have in a pocket on a long ride as a psychological boost at the very least.

Amazing value if you are someone who trains hard & requires energy on the go!

Worth trying on the morning workouts. They might not make a difference to the workout itself but you wont be as depleted afterwards which might aid faster recovery.

2 boxes arrived today; Mountain Berry ones have "use by" date of 4 March 2021, but the date on the Ginger Ale ones suggest i need to use them in the next 20 days (22 Feb 2021)!

Haven't managed to get out on the bike for ages either, so its going take some time to get through them. Hope the dates are more "best before" than "use by"...😏

I really like them and use them mainly for my long distance ultra runs as I struggle with what to eat, so they work well for me.

Bargain at this price!

I rarely eat energy gels / shot bloks that are actually in date.

Only recently polished off some gels BBE 2017. I'm still alive, but one had gone a bit lumpy.

These will keep me going for another year or so and may inspire me to get some longer rides in while it's still winter.

Just as an extra to this and a related PSA: The Lidl store near me is selling SIS gels (boxes of 6) for £3-99, however it's also 2 boxes for £6...bargain!

They have had them in a while now and no one seems to be buying them...except me, I'm stocking up 🙂

Still not received mine ☹

How long did they take for everyone else? Hope they not sitting in a soggy gloopy mess in a bush in the garden somewhere...

The shop owner sold 500 boxes in about 90 mins with his latest stock I believe!

Mine arrived this morning. Ginger Beer flavour best before 22/02/21. No updates or owt from the seller so either totally overloaded or not very good at this ecommerce lark...

I had my first go with some on Saturday running and was happily impressed. Caffeine and cals in a squidgy blob. Not quite as easy to slurp as flavoured man juice (gels) but a good alternative specially on the boik.

I'm getting through mine on the turbo right now, still seems a bit extravagant to have a pack of Bloks and a bottle of Torq for a 1 hour workout but the calories and carbs work out as per every guide you'll ever read about fuelling workouts so happy days.

Kind of feel I should be saving my margarita flavoured ones for summer right enough, ginger ale seems more appropriate for garage training duties while watching the snow coming down outside the garage door.

Edit:

Ordered 26th Jan and delivered by DPD today. So a week

perfect, ta, ordered mine 26th as well so they're just a bit slow, I can live with that.

Also ordered on the 26th and got the shipping notice this afternoon, quite impressed it’s DPD for the price. I don’t think it’s been collected yet so probably end the week before I get it.

Ginger ale are quite tastey.

I like the gel block thing as well. Hopefully try them properly soon.

I should have known my fat man approach was wrong...bloks arrived yesterday, they have a very short best before life - 22/02/2021.

I'm loving the Ginger Ale flavoured ones and suspect the 2 boxes of those won't last until 22nd anyway, but just posting this for awareness in case there are people who are religious about using food before best before dates.

EDIT: I should read ALL the posts before posting as I see this has already been mentioned...

Mine arrived yesterday, thanks again for the PSA. They replace some 2 year out of date gels bought from PlanetX. These were a wee bit lumpy but still edible. I'm pretty sure these Bloks will last forever kept in a cool place, after which they'll probably make good firelighters :o)

Sad by the amount of packaging and info sheets on each one, but they are still pretty nice.

Firelighter would work as they have carnuba wax in them lol.

Mine arrived yesterday. Only a couple of days from order. Mountain berry...nice flavour, not too strong.March 2021 expiry date but as I'm using 2 years out of date gels i'm not that bothered. Good PSA thanks

Mine turned up yesterday.

I bought 5 boxes without thinking exactly how many packs are ina box. Possibly enough to keep me going for a couple of years!

The ginger ale ones taste like..ginger ale! Great!

I tried a load of energy snacks years ago and the berry ones were my favourite ☺️

:oD

I ordered two boxes which arrived on Wed. I thought two boxes was a bit OTT when I saw how big the boxes were, although I think it was the min quantity for free delivery.
And, to be fair, if using on the turbo trainer they won't actually last long.

Bloody chewy when the garage is cold though! I might have to pre-warm to soften them up!!

Apparently they get chewier as they go out of date, which is apparently all that happens to them as they go out of date!

I just have them in my back pocket for turbo duties, I start my session with a 20 minute warm-up during which time I just sip from my bottle, I then use the Bloks as a wee boost before each interval (most of my workouts are 3 sets of something). After the 20 minutes in my back pocket they're pretty easy to chew...

After 20 minutes down the back of my bibs I can think of few things I would rather do than eat the things, chewy or otherwise!

Yep, made that mistake myself. Keep them in the house to keep them actually chewable. Not a fan of gluing my mouth shut at the exact time oxygen is required.
