I could do with a medium px team alu frame, if you want to extend the code to one of those, please Brant?

*I did buy an £80 saddle last night so won't get the 15% discount on that.

Oops, scandal 29er bought on impulse! ..... As well as a pair of superstar switch 29er wheels for £130, anyone got these, any good? Looks like I'm building a 29er then, hopefully on the cheap! Just need to get a fork of some description????

Tempted by the Scandal 29er.

At 6'2.5" would I be better off with a 19.5 or 21?

ah so you can now get silver/black scandal for same price as "sandpaper green" (tried a green for £75, foiled by the website).

Would the inbred or scandal make a good bike-packing machine? Quite fancy that but with a full sys seems overkill, but I'm not sure what factors make s bike suitable for some bike packing etc

Podman - I've got a set of SS dropouts that I used once on my whippet. Can do them with a set of chaintugs for £25 posted

Thanks for the offer, after a bit of thought I've decided to go for the Inbred instead- building it up cheap for London use and could do with saving the money compared to the Scandal.

so how do the 29" scandals come up sizewise?....at that price i could get one for future build for the *mrs* I'm 5'10 she is 5'8 would the 18" be too big for her? I've previously had a 26er 16" inbred but it had a lot of post showing....

I'm 5'9" with 32" inseam. I was ok on an 18" scandal and and 18" inbred, but am much happier on the 16" versions of both.

The bent seatpost means that the higher the seat goes, the longer the effective TT becomes. I suppose it comes down to whether you're buygni a bike for your missus that you might borrow (16"), or a bike for you that you;ll let her ride (18")

Ntb I'm glad you posted that, I'm just under 5'10" and have just ordered the 16" scandal 29er but was getting a bit worried that it was going to be too small??what size stem and width bars do you use? Thanks

SIM270 - i'm 5'8" with just under a 32" inseam, but ape-positive by +2". (armspan greater than height)
16" 26er inbred/scandal geometry is ok, but better as SS as they feel too short sat down with a layback post and 90mm stem with 670mm bars. (i know- too short nowadays 😉 ). On a SS and mostly stood up it's fine. I reckon an 18 will suit me better but haven't tried one yet.

edit - forgot about the scandal 29er bent seatpost as NBT said. So does that make a 16" 29er scandal suit taller folk than a 16" 29er inbred?

Thanks Yak. I have a 16" carbon 456 and used to have a 18" inbred (both 26") the 456 with 60mm stem and 740 bars was chuckable but but slightly short sat down on longer rides, the inbred had an 80mm stem and felt a bit of a stretch, was wondering if the 29ers made a difference to the sizing. I'd probably run it with the 60mm stem and wide 700+ flat bar?

@ yak from their site

We get asked a lot what size frame people should ride! Here's some thoughts.

READ THIS SECTION TWICE: You probably need an 18in frame...

4. 29ers are almost the same size as 26ers.
However, at that lower end, we'd move it up a bit. 16in 29er are a little bigger than the 26in one, so maybe riders under 5'10" should be on a 16in one.

Cheers, should have read that! Will stick with the 16" and see how it goes. Happy riding!

I'm struggling with the sizing, the 19.5 is slightly small and the 21 is longer than the hardtail I'm happy with.

Not gambling though, I need to try one of either size.

I'm 6'2"-3", 34 inside leg, bike mainly for long distance stuff and bikepacking.

big_n_daft I'd suggest going slightly smaller than you are used to for a 26er. I'm 6'2" with a 35" inside leg. 19.5" is fine for me.

Hummm, nbt I'm not sure again now, I'd have a shorter stem so even smaller cockpit. Bike looks good if a little strange but that's 29ers for you. Oh we'll, 16" ordered anyway and not going for a xc whippet ride style so will see.

same here, i like a very short stem so reckon the 18" will be better for me (after studying that photo) and just slide the saddle forward a touch when the mrs uses it..

I only run 29er/69ers

The 19 inch Carver is slightly small, the 29er Rig is longer than the 19.5 scandal, and it works well for me.

Hence the dilema

Right, I've bottled it, have emailed on-one to change my order to an 18" frame and will use a short stem (45mm) and straight post with seat forwards if have too, just looked too cramped. Compared geo specs on the 456c and scandal 29er and the effective top tube was actually longer on the 456c?!

So when can i expect my new plaything to arrive? How long do frame deliveries usually take? Parts from on one have been pretty quick in the past but I'm guessing they'll have quite a few frame orders to get through now.

What with the New Year BH next week I'm expecting delivery towards the end of next week sometime hopefully. They are normally pretty quick but this time of the year is probably the worst for expecting parcels and deliveries.

We currently have all hands on deck packing orders including Ed Oxley and his son Nial.
Hope to get through these today.

Note that requests to change orders almost certainly can't be met as orders have been printed and are being dispatched. Sorry. Of course we will exchange on return.

Hey brant, just clicked for a reverb through planet-x. At the time there were 2 showing as in stock.
Order is showing in my account as awaiting further stock. Are you guys expecting anymore in the near future and if so will it be at the price shown?
Cheers

Needless to say, I wish I had now 🙁
