May be of interest to the fat-tyred amongst you.
Have enjoyed my Krampus on it's first couple of outings, but the big tyres do spray a lot!
So decided to knock up some prototype guards on the vacuum former at work. I've designed these to work on the Krampus, but I guess they'd fit any frame with big tyres and mudguard eyelets.
Will be extensively testing them over Easter - plenty of mud around anyway!
Here are some pics of the rear guard, the front guard is still being 'processed'. ๐

I like the idea, although there is one problem
It was decided elsewhere that to be called a Fat Tyre it had to be the same width or a larger width that the origianl Fat Tyre which was the Surly Endomorph.
So the Krampus isn't a Fat Bike
Runs off and hides ๐
Aren't regular crud guards etc enough?
Reminds me of old speedway bikes.
The corner of your curtain is caught up on the amp...

Ok, semi-fat then ๐
Cynic-al - No, they're far too narrow. Also I found that because of the tyre/wheel size I had to attach the crud guard right at the top of the seatpost, and dropping the post meant the tyre hits the guard. So a seatstay mounted one was the best option.
Danny B - thanks, now moved.
blue?
white cable ties?
bin wants emptying.

Your saddle looks really uncomfortable.
Knew you'd approve Del ๐ I'm hoping to escape the 'bum-explosion' look I had last Sunday! You out tomorrow? Going to be another wet one.
Blue, as that's the colour of HIPs we had in stock. If it works I'll order in some black.
The bin is full of Dot 5.1 sodden paper as I was trying to sort my squealy/locking brakes, still not sure if they're 100% ๐

OK for an hour or two, but for a day riding in slushy snow you need proper mudguards to avoid hypothermia.
