[Closed] Problems with Lapierre dropper seatposts - how did you fix 'em ?

Got a dropper seatpost on my Spicy and it's a pain in the @rse, frankly.
Goes down of it's own accord when seated.
Raises of it's own accord when standing.
I know they have a reputation for being unreliable but has anybody managed to get one working properly ?
Is it likely to be faulty or more likely just a case of poor adjustment ?
Opinions/advice gratefully recived.
Cheers in advance.

Take/send it back, should be repaired/replaced by whoever makes it.

Open bin,place in bin,close bin.
All of ours have failed and been replaced with ks(frying pan/fire scenario).

There was a chap who had a similar problem on the Lapierre OWners forum, Lapierre sent him a KS one. My mate has the same issue, hoping for the same result.

Return to original place of purchase with a copy of the reciept, they'll return to Hotlines (UK Lapierre distributor) for a warraty inspection

Friend of mine bought an XLC seatpost (I believe they're the same). It certainly had the same issues, we fitted a small coil spring between the cable and lever (On the seatpost side). Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

I've got one of those XLC ones and did exactly the same as wagenwheel describes. It seems that the spring that returns the lever, and effectively 'locks' the post, isn't very strong. I only fitted a spring from a pen, and it's worked fine since.

If it's a ks it needs cleaning & oiling or pull some tension on the cable. Got to do mine every few months.

Hi All
Thanks for the replies. The post is a Lapierre branded number, looks very much like the XLC above but all black and with Lapierre written all over it. It does have a small spring between the two levers on the seat end of the cable but maybe it needs sometihing stronger, will experiment !
Cheers
