ok my recon 351's have a problem, they struggle to push into there travel even at low pressure and then dive once there in to it, any ideas why?

If you've had them for a while they probably need a decent service and the sag setting correctly. Easy to do. Download the manual off the SRAM site, get some fork oil (from any motorcycle shop), 20-minute job. Then try them out.

I had a similar problem with my Recons 351 solo airs the other week. Travel went down from 130mm to about 20mm and the compression no longer worked. What had happened was the oil in the compression side had got past the lower seal and swapped places with the air down there.(Apologies to any pendants for non-technical simplicity in this post)

Stripped the fork down, drained it and gave it a good clean and oil change. It's back to normal now. It was more of a two hour job though, not 20 minutes!

BTW, cheers to Shinythings from this forum for actually doing all the work on my forks whilst I stood around for 2 hours looking stupid.
