I have a Hope dub BB that came with a frame I bought second hand.

The bearings are a little grumbly so I was going to give them a clean out and repack them.

I’m not wedded to the dub standard so not looking to swap out the bearings, just trying to eek out some more use but …

I cannot get the bearing covers(?) off.

I think the Hope Dub BBs use a reducer that doubles as a cover that is pressed(?) in.

On other BBs these have slipped out with little to no force but these Hope ones aren’t budging.

What am I doing wrong?

All pointers welcome.

Hope don't really make dub BBs, they make 30mm BBs and you fit an adaptor for dub, suspect the adaptor on non drive side might be what's stopping you getting the covers out

I agree.

How on earth do you remove the adapters/reducers?

yeah, they separate into two halves, you should be able to see the join, but it's never straightforward

Thanks folks.

Trying to tap off the reducers the bearings came out with the reducers in situ! Doh!

A small amount of judicious use with the hammer and a screwdriver and the two are free!

Bearings now repacked and reinstalled and now waiting for some new reducers that appear definitely are not a reuse item!
