I have in front of me two airshafts that I believe are meant to be the same but under closer inspection appear not 😔

Both airshafts are meant to be 12o mm 29er Pike airshafts - 2014 Pike compatible.

Airshaft 1 is stamped with "110" at the bottom near the threaded foot and is ~215mm in total length.

Airshaft 2 is stamped with "090" at the bottom near the threaded foot and is ~230mm in total length.

To me this would suggest a ~15mm difference in overall travel.

Both are Debonair.

Simple mislabelling or Something else?

If the former what travel do we reckon this ought to give - 105mm? I’m not aware RS offer a 105mm fork either retail or OEM especially in the Pike/Yari casting.

Total side note the airshaft from my 100mm Yari 29 plus forks is actually a 120mm 26ā€ air shaft measuring ~200mm! 🤨

Are they the same variant of airshaft? Are air pistons the same? Or are they different? There are at least 3 different designs. A1, B1, C1 and all are different to look at. The size of the piston for example changes the volume ratio between the positive and negative air chambers.

Got a pic?

Ninja edit... The pics didn't load the first time I looked

Is the part number on the packaging the same?

Was 2014 when the Pike changed from a 26" DJ to a 27.5/29er? Could it be that they both fit a 2014 Pike, but they're both for a different version?

Both are labelled 29 120 - sadly only one bag has a part number on.

I "think" the one on the left is a B1 and the one on the right is an A1 or A2.

B1 gives a much softer feel of the top, which some didn't like and led them to releasing the C1 the year after. I preferred the B1.

Some parts numbers and compatibility info here.

"Airshaft 1 is stamped with ā€œ110ā€" - That number doesn't correspond to the travel length (although one I had recently did have the same travel length as was stamped on it...) However doesn't seem to correspond with the part no.s in the doc clubby linked to. Jolly confusing indeed.

Looks like mislabeled to me, one is 120mm for 27.5, both look b1 but the left one is in the latest packaging and the seal head looks flared/lipped where it contacts the bumper, not seen that before and it might explain the odd number, I've got b1 and c1 for Lyriks both in the black packaging so the left one in latest more recyclable packaging seems like an updated seal head of a b1, the c1 is totally different with a red foot nut so clearly not that. It's baffling being 15mm different, hope someone can figure it out.

The one on the left has 2022 WK31 on packaging the one on the right 2020 WK22

I guess when I pull the non debonair airshaft from my Pike that is currently 120mm it will hopefully marry up with one of these length wise!

Good call @noeffsgiven on it perhaps being a 27.5 airshaft.

One will be for a A1/2 Pike and the other will be for the B1 I think it was.
