After a healthy 4 hours soaking while riding yesterday my thoughts turned to the approaching autumn/winter months. I could really do with cleaning and maybe reproofing my waterproofs and now seems as good a time as ever.

I have an Endura Venturi I jacket and Event shorts as well as a Montane Featherlite Velo jacket and I was going to use Nikwax Tech Wash to wash them, should I use some Direct X as well to freshen up the DWR layer?

Cheers all ๐Ÿ™‚

Direct X which version? Though admittedly there all dead/dying nowadays ๐Ÿ˜‰
(hey the site is full of geeks, they'd get it without the link...)

Though yes I use TX Direct to reproof my kit, after washing with the Tech Wash. Check the manufacturers website for indivdual washing/rebproofing instructions, though I'd expect most to happily recommend the use of the TX Direct.
Grangers kit also has a good reputation too.

I had a look on the Endura site but couldnt find any recommendations for re proofing. In the label for the Montane its says use Techwash so I'll go with that I think.

would you use Tech Wash & TX Direct on a pair of Sealskin socks? I've always just chucked them in the wash with everything else but thought I may give them a spin as I'm doing everything else?

Any reason why not?
