At the Commonwealth games, Claire Oakley of Northern Ireland got a puncture almost within sight of the finish, and with no-one else left out on course.
The commentators suggested everyone should become N.I. for the next few minutes - proper hairs on the back of your neck stuff as the crowd went utterly bonkers for her.
Great sportsmanship.
