We will be in touch
So I started running a month or so back. Everything has been fine, ive been doing about 5/10k a week for 5 weeks. But last night I got home from a run and something in my left knee was popping when I walk up steps!
Went to ride my commute this morning and it was popping pretty bad, so not wanting to do any lasting damage, I drove in.
Anyone know what this popping is? It isnt that painful, and I could have probably ridden though it. Only really popped when I got out of the saddle. But it feels like a kind of a clunky pop rather than a clicky pop. Like a tendon getting snagged and being released.
Anyone had anything similar? Got me some riding to do on the weekend and this is kind of a bummer...
Probably a bit tricky to diagnose on the internet..
Sounds like you have a foreign body in there, could be a bit of cartilage, bone or the missing Lego piece.
They can pop along quite happily for ages, its only if it gets stuck in the joint it really gives you jip. Go see the doctor.
What they said - but ONLY the first line. The rest is complete pie in the sky stuff.
In the words of my physio "if it clicks or pops but doesn't hurt, it's fine"
Clicks are fine, clunks are not... From my physio...
I click in both knee's frequently..
With no pain it's not normally an issue - I click like hell climbing stairs or squating and have done for years. If it's painful though get it checked out.
The technical term is Crepitus http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/injuries/a/aa092500.htm
Its not a clicking like you crack your kuckles, or clicking your knee when you squat.
Something will potentially be rubbing over something else which is lnflammed and making a popping noise as it lets go. Might be nothing to worry about. If it ever gets too sore just go see your gp then.
Yep, not a one off click from nitrogen in the joints but a click every time you extend your leg or put the power down on your pedals/climb a step? That's what I get, and it doesn't hurt. If it hurts get it checked or at least rest it and see if it clears up any.
