I need need to find a decent shop that can look after my new[ish] bike. I bought a secondhand full sus that is in need of some attention from someone with more experience and skill than I have and i have been spectacularly underwhelmed by visits to the two local shops that i have been to recently which is a shame as they are the nearest to me.

Feel free to let me know of your good experiences and hold on to your bad.

ta very much

Have you tried Mountain Trax in Barkham near Wokingham? They seem to have a good reputation and sell some top end bikes and gear so worth a shot.

Not that I dont think bike shops are great because lots of them are but: If you are posting on a helpful forum such as this, why not ask peeps for help fixing your problems? I'll bet half of what's wrong will be meat and taters to most of the guys on here. Save the money and spend it on tools, and get a good warm glow when it all works.

Come on what's up with it? Break it down into steps/problems..

I would second mountain-trax, but the workshop gets busy so give them a call.

Also East St Cycles in Farnham are good.

Just be careful of Mountain Trax. They are a good shop, no doubt about that, but rather, err 'haphazard' in their ways shall we say.

I've had to pick up the pieces of their efforts on two occasions.
I believe they've got a new mechanic now though, so that might help.

Personally, I wouldn't take a bike there, but there's very little I can't do myself now. If I had to, I'd use Cycle Kingdom in Fleet, or East St Cycles in Farnham, maybe even Camberley Cycles in Frimley Green too.

I've never had an issue with Mountain Trax and I've been using them since they were holed up in the garden center near Swinley.

iBike in Crowthorne used to be pretty good also but they've changed hands now and are part of the "Cyclezone" group, although I still think they bill the Crowthorne shop as the one for serious cyclists.
