I have started using a Platypus Big Zip SL on rides as my new frame has no bottle bosses.
The first one I purchased had a strong 'plastic' smell and made the water undrinkable. I took this back and the shop changed it but the replacement, whilst better, still makes the water taste unpleasant.
The water is fine to drink straight from my tap, so it's not the water itself.
Is this something that is normal? This is my first hydration system so have nothing to judge it against. Am I just being over sensitive? Will it get better over time? Or should I use a strong tasting drink to overpower the taste from the bladder?
