I've managed to break a piston in my Shimano SLX caliper (BR-675). It leaks oil at quite a rate, and the piston makes crunchy noises when gently squeezing it ๐
I've seen a couple of posts on here about replacing pistons, e.g. with these sorts of parts from eBay:
...but no conclusion as to whether it worked out in the end or not. I'd quite like to repair the caliper if I can, but I'd appreciate any experiences as to how feasible this is.
Has anyone successfully replaced pistons in Shimano calipers, or am I better off just binning it and buying a new one?
Bin it and buy a new one. Its the shimano way.
Somebody call??
I have a SLX brake with a broken lever, the caliper is sound if its of any use
No love for the idea of repair, then ๐ I thought perhaps it was a hiding to nothing.
