Thanks, interesting read.
That Konaretro site is ace, it's a pity they haven't updated it in a while.
The links at the side of the page take you to other catalogues that aren't featured on the site. 8)
Cool snowflake wheel, oink.
And is that the world's largest Lizard Skins protector on the top tube?
Now that's what I call a proper sized chain ring. None of this namby pamby 42t stuff.

1991 Lavadome. This was it in 2010. It did a months road tour in Newfoundland then I bought some cheap knobblies and rode some trails in vermont including the Kingdom Trails DH course. Now that's versatility.
Seatpost and headset are original.
What am I doing wrong trying to post a pic from flickr?
You sure its a 91?
Clearly not from the link you posted. It came with the Suntour X1 (I think) group originally. A quick search has revealed that '89 or 90 is more like it!
It weighs a ton but rides really well both off road and on. I went out to try the Lagan black on it last year for a bit of a laugh and it took it in its stride. Cmon the retro bikes!

Bought the frame from Tiger a member of STW and it is Kona last 853 Reynolds steel frame. Resprayed and added disc tab to fit Rohloff.
