Am planning on installing a tapered fork to my Kona Unit which has a 44mm headtube with currently a 1.125 Hope integral headset fitted - so, *I think* I simply need to swap out the bottom cup for an external 1.5/44mm cup (type H).
No-one seems to have a complete Purple lower type H in stock so I am aiming to buy the following:
Purple 1.5/44mm cup only (biketart) £12
Tapered blue seal bearings (leaving a spare upper bearing) £16
1.5" crown race £5
£33 all-in. Or, at least, I think that's all I'd need in order to convert - but have I missed any o-rings or other gubbins that would normally be included with a complete lower headset assembly?
Nope, thats all you need - and if you can do it for £33 you're £2 under RRP 🙂
