Can anyone suggest any decent fun routes in the peaks for riding when its very wet, so I guess that means something rocky?

Done the beast, jaggers clough, jacobs ladder, roych clough and a couple more I cant remember the name of, so fancy something different to these - any suggestions?

standard wet weather rocky loop would be the Jacobs Ladder loop - everything else will be a clag-fest after the snow.

If you have already done it, not sure of any other suitable routes.

Thanks all, I tend to end up riding those tracks a lot especially macc forest. So I'm looking for somewhere different.

I'm trying to pick somewhere to meet a mate from birmingham for a ride, I'm in manchester. So the peaks looked like a good choice, but it doesnt have to be the peaks.

Are there any other potential routes that might suit that would be easy for us both to get to (please no cannock chase) ?

julians Have you tried Langsett to Ladybower its around a 37km route or linger if you want to take in the lower part of Ladybower ,a fair old climb from Langsett car park on the A616 woodhead to the top and then a decent down to Ladybower

Or a local run I do a lot is Hobson moor in Stalybridge over to Dovestones at Greenfield worth a look for a few hours out

Steve - are you suggesting the cut gate path?

I was going to give that a go as its one I havent done before and have read its a good one, but I've also read its not one to do when its been wet ,as it gets boggy. Is that wrong ? is it ok even in the wet?

Yes that's the one Cutgate ,we did it a few weeks back before the monsoon season started ,it was a little boggy ,basicly climbing a small river bed up ,it was boggy in parts but nothing to bad , I did Hobson's New years eve and that's a wet place at the best of times but it wasn't to bad

cutgate will be very unpleasant at the moment
If the snow is still there you will be hub deep in snow and walking alot
If the snow has melted you will be hub deep in water and walking alot
Best 'legal' bet is over Hayfield side, or as others said the Jacobs loop

Walked up Cavedale yesterday. It would be rideable now. Could be linked to Hollins/Edale? No snow either as there was when I tried with the bike on New Years Eve!!!

Cut Gate will be awful. Cavedale will be fun.

If you're on twitter there's a feed about peak district conditions- keeper of the peak. It has updates on where all the bogs are: @kofthep

As an alternative, how about meeting at Llandegla?
Sorry...I know it's a trail centre and therefore deeply unfashionable, but it holds up in bad weather, has plenty of riding (and a café at the end for a decent bacon roll or something)....
