Team Tommo-Hesse are going on our annual family camping holiday to the Peak District this year. A place called Callow Top campsite(any good?) that's in Ashbourne. There are well documented leisurely trails (mentioned above) but I'm hoping some one can point us in the direction of something more challenging for when the dads can break free of the pack.

Any nice flowing single track, with a bit of technical thrown in would be great... Nothing too severe as I'm only taking a LT 29" hardtail (red or equivalent standard would be spot on).

Not much around Ashbourne.
If it's dry, just look for the BWs on the map - Gratton dale etc, Bakewell.
If it's bee wet, take a road bike - the limestone means sticky mudfest and slimy rocks.
Also head NW over to Three Shires Head/Danebower Hollow/Cumberland Clough and Macc Forest area.

You might find it worthwhile investing the White Peak Mountain Biking published by Vertebrate

I was there last weekend, with my boys. We were in the big field and had a great time. The boys made friends with a couple of other families and i barley saw them all weekend. The outdoor pool was a bit cold. They have there own real ales which are good. Its also right on the Tissington trail though its on the steepest part which can be a struggle for young kids.
