It’s, for me, the best sporting event of the entire year. I’ll be watching every minute. Got some Belgian beers chilling nicely with frites and mayo to munch on. And yes I know it’s actually in France but it’s a Belgian race in all but place.

Yes I'll be on the sofa from the flag drop. I got some training in last weekend with the Tour of Flanders so I'm sure I can last the course.

Only race of the year where it's non stop action from the beginning. Sadly I'll not catch it live this year.

Belgium is a recent construct in the grand scheme (200 years) - it's a Flandrian race

I thought that when I first rode P-Rx, having ridden 270km of RvV twice previously - Flemish cobbles are block paving in comparison to the brutality of Arenberg and Carrefour. Between Haveluy and Mons En Pevele there are 9 sectors, about 20km of cobbles in 40km. Secteurs 5,4 and 3 up to Carrefour are shown as three secteurs, but you literally cross a road when going from one to the other so there's no respite. With Carrefour a 5* sector, big potholes, broken edges either side and some pretty difficult corners if you find yourself on the wrong line or pushed off the crown. They don't even run the sportive full-distance anymore because it's just too brutal - it's a pity, because it was pretty magical starting in the dark at 5am and seeing a stream of red lights in the morning mist.

last of the cobbles for another year isn’t it? Inrng has a good preview as usual http://inrng.com/2019/04/paris-roubaix-preview-2019

Sky were there? I simply don't think they care.

Enjoyed it though.

That was some fast racing. Sagan looked “tired” though. Carlton Kirby - what an annoying person. You could hear Sean Kelly (legend) biting his tongue at when at one point.

That was a fabulous race today.  Watching WvA pull himself back twice from a minute down was wonderful even if in the end it was a bit too much.

What a great race. I kept having to dip in and out of it and each time I came back it was a whole new race.
