Can anyone give me a heads up on a pair of wheels that that are not going to cost the earth? Considering I can’t yet get over much without hitting it first! So far I’ve been recommended these but am steering closer to the Mavic Crossrides purely on price. Any more recommendations would be great. I’d use my old wheels but they don’t have disc mounts as they are from about 1998BC

FRONT WHEEL Hope Hoops Pro 2 on Stan flows £107.99
REAR WHEELS Hope Hoops Pro 2 on Stans Rear £189.99
£297.98

PAIR OF WHEELS Mavic Crossride Disc 6-Bolt Wheelset 2011 £140

SRAM X9 for £199 with sealed cartridge bearings?

Looks like you can get them for about £160 online.

The old bike (GT Tequesta) had Shimano Parrlax hubs and weimman Zac 19 rims. Not sure how they stacked up as a wheel but they are still on and work!

Merlin get very good reviews for custom wheel builds.

If you don't mind a little more maintainance you could get a set of XT hubs with something like Mavic EN521 rims under budget, or for a little more money some ZTR rims.

Superstar do some decent looking wheels that get mixed reviews, but the prices are very good.

Saw Decathlon are selling 15mm Shimano MT65's for £140 (about 1/2 price) which seemed like a bargain to me for UST wheels. Come with valves and skewers too.
