After a couple of years on the dark side I am returning to mtb riding.
I am looking to shed some weight on my PA and move to a more xc slant.
Currently riding with coil pikes, conti gravitiy 2.3s and 321 rims.
So I'm going for 717s and possibly high rollers or some intense tyres 2 or 1.8
Not sure about forks though, some inspiration needed!
Thanks.
I did have a Mk1 PA but moved to a morning glory which the Morning glory is based on to save some weight. Switched to Lighter and shorter forks and wheels at the same time. The weight difference seems huge when I pick her up but I can't say I notice much difference when riding other than bunnyhopping. The shorter forks make the biggest difference. It feels much more XC now.
Rough spec is
Fox Vanilla 125s
ProIIs on Stans Flows
Tubless Nevegals
SLX Mechs
Middleburn RS7s
Best to run a PA in burly mode IMO.
My MK1 is
Coil Pikes
40mm stem
singlering/bashguard
maxxis minions 2.3
Pro 2 hubs
719 rims
I was thinking of winding the forks down to 110 ish and just getting a bit fitter.
With possibly some new tyres.
