I'm thinking of getting an iPhone but so far I've been put off because I couldn't find a way to load up OS maps for offline use(ie as a normal GPS when outside mobile range). Now I've just seen this - routebuddy - which allows you to purchase and load OS maps

Has anyone got any experiences of using this and the OS maps as a biking / walking GPS?
Are there any other options that allow the loading of OS maps on to the iPhone?
Thanks
Routebuddy is rather expensive. There are a number of apps that use the open map system, but none, so far that have OS maps native to the phone. That is almost certain to change in the relatively near future, however. View Ranger have advertised for an iPhone app developer, and they have also got funding to expand onto other phone platforms from Symbian, which is what they've worked on so far. I'm not too fussed at the mo', as my 16Gb 3G is almost full, so I'm happy to wait until the next gen comes out next June, which coincides with my contract ending. ๐
