Are they completely home servicable? I am really sick of spending pots of cash on a Reverb service.
AFAIK the cartridge is a non-serviceable sealed unit. All I've done is an occasional re-grease which is very straightforward.
I assume the cartridge contains the ifp? So if I get squish it's off for a service?
As it's a sealed cartridge all it will need is a grease and possibly the bushings changed:

Mine has been loosing pressure slowly, but I found the valve core wasn't quite tight - will see how that goes as a fix.
I’ve just done a home service on my Oneup v2 180mm travel post. The cartridge is a replaceable sealed one - if it goes pear shaped I think it’s about £50 for a new one. So far no troubles with mine and I believe it’s the same cartridge as in the brand x ascend.
The service kit for everything else is £12 ish - includes a new top collar with bush, 2 x other plastic bush type parts, new brass keys and a couple of rubber o rings. Didn’t take very long to take it apart and rebuilt it with new parts. Plus I tipped up the air pressure as it was a touch low. Now back to full working service.
I actually think the Oneup is less durable than the brand x - my feeling is they’ve made the top collar really shallow to get a lower stack height so you can run a bigger drop in a given space. I think this has slightly compromised the sealing vs the brand x. I ran a few brand x posts for a few years each without any attention being required. My Oneup did just under a year before it started returning a bit slow - you can unscrew the top collar in sight to clean it and regrease and that gets it back going again - the friction slowing the post seems to be pretty much that top collar getting grubby. Got to the point where I was regreasing the top collar every few rides so have done the rebuild kit.
If you can fit a brand x with enough drop in the space I’d be inclined to go with one of those over the Oneup now. I don’t have that option though to run as much drop as I possibly can.
I gave my OneUp seat post a service for the first time in over a year of use at the weekend. Follow the instructions and its a really simple process.
it's worth trying the service before considering replacing it. I have a collection of reverbs waiting to go on ebay as spares or repair as I got fed up with them needing to be sent away.
Slight hijack, but does anyone have any guidance of how often to regrease the oneup?
Another hijack, does anyone else find these droppers don't return properly when the temperature goes below 5°c ?
Just FYI - Reverbs are fully home rebuildable - no need for expensive services and no sealed cartridges either.
@JonEdwards
What did you use for setting the IFP right and did you use one of them park vice jaw thingy's?
Ta
V1 was easy to do, about an hour all in. In the year I had it before service it needed to be topped up with air every few months but since it's been much better on that front.
Simple internals, easy to service and rebuild. As stated above, the cartridge is fairly cheap as per several other dropper manufacturers. Reverb is in a crate in the garage awaiting time and inclination to get it working again.
@JonEdwards no trouble here in sub zero temperatures.
I used a Oneup for about 1year, 3500km. I've greased, serviced and topped up the air plenty of times. Two years warranty is handy. I got a new cartridge sent out under warranty. Fitting is a bit fiddly compared to BrandX.
I have two and both have occasionally needed air but when I've stripped them down they look like brand new inside.
Fitting is a bit fiddly compared to BrandX.
It’s exactly the same as a brand x surely? I’ve fitted both recently and they both clamp at the lever and have the nobbly bit of the gear cable at the post end. The v2 Oneup with the later actuator uses the cable to shift exactly the same as a brand x (early one used the outer to actuate the post which is where most issues arose I think).
