Im looking for a headset for my new Titus Fireline Evo 29er. O-O recommend their Smoothie mixer. £39 - not too bad. If you want to run a tapered fork (why else get a tapered head tube) they charge an extra £19 for a 1.5 crown race!! £19 for a little piece of metal that you need to use the headset??

I would email them to ask if they will swap the 1 1/8 for a 1.5 race, but I already have 2 unanswered emails from them.

For comparison, the equivalent Superstar is £31.99, with both crown races included. If they had a black one inn stock, i would get it, but only gold/orange/techno lime. Gold is tempting, but it isn't a nice gold.

They chucked the crown race in for free when I bought one.

Frosty - was that a request, or it just came?

Does it include the price for a bearing as well? 20 should buy you the entire lower half (see Hope pick and mix for an example)

No, I just remember a multi buy of Charge spoon and grips in topping orange for peanuts about a year ago.

I must stop thinking about this before i end up with an orange themed bike!!!

FWIW my smoothie was absolutely rotten, bottom bearing went graunchy in a handful of rides. It was free, so can't complain too much but if I'd paid a pound I'd have been annoyed.

I had the same. It came so close to buying a Hope Pic 'N mix, I got one from my local shop, who fitted it free of charge.

surely if you twist that D lock on the end the bit holding it to the shed would just pull right out?
