Does anyone have a full off road commute?

I can get most of the way into town off road, with the exception of the last mile or so. During last summer and the better weather I was commuting by MTB After a few close fly by drivers in the last couple of weeks I'm keen to get off the road. I'm tempted to build a 29'er SS with mudguards as an off road commuter and go for it full time, come hell or high water. So anyone else commuting off road?

Am contemplating it, however this relies on me picking up a reasonably cheap cyclo-cross bike so I can cycle road in and then off road back. 10miles road 15miles off road.

95% of my commute is offroad. All well surfaced paths (trans pennine trail). Far too many dog walkers, joggers etc in the summer months when I stick to the roads.

very nearly. My commute is 14 miles and I work compressed so it's rare that I commute by bike but the canal is half mile from my house and goes all the way bar 3 miles or so to my place of work. Canals can be puncture alley though after the hedges have been flailed.

You can whack full guards on anything with the trusty p clips.
I've got them on my mount vision and all I get is dirty boots.

All but 400 meters is off road for me. No chance of using full mudguards without the wheels jamming solid at the moment. I have an old inner tube working ins a neo guard on rigid forks and a crud catcher. At the back I have the front and rear parts of a moto type front fender cable tied on top of the rack. It is a site to behold and the chain is lubricated with a mix of mud and gearbox oil.
