I need a water bottle to fit in my am160 <170ml
So a thinner top to maximise capacity of that makes sense??

Shortest “normal” bottle that I’ve found is an Elite Fly, 185mm (assume you meant mm not ml)

Fidlock go shorter, or Canyon eject gives you loads of capacity, or you could possibly offset the mount to one side to gain some space, or is using an adapter to slide the bottle position down an option? Or there’s a stupidly expensive bottle and cage from YT

This may have been a tired brain dump

Have you got the little “wedge” that Bird do?

I've got the di2 mount and shims which give even more room,
I did mean mm but sure why I typed ml!

This thing https://www.bird.bike/product/aeris-aether-bottle-cage-adaptor/

It makes the bottle sit a bit more inline with the shock.

Not sure if it works the same on the AM160 but on my Aether it’s let me fit a 750ml bottle in.

I have a di2 mount and the Bird wedge adapter thing to put my bottle cage as low as possible away from the shock and where there's plenty of free space just above the BB (also on an am160). I can fit a reasonable size bottle and a frame bag now.

the Hoy bottles are tiny at 400ml, but not just because they're only 400ml, they're just really small too.

I think i got mine from Evans. If they don't fit in a frame, nothing is !!!!!

This is very good for sliding the bottle down and giving more room - https://76projects.com/products/water-bottle-space-saver

@hooli, same as the di2 mount. It's not the distance down its the angle/shock piggyback clearance that's the issue. I've got a bottle but wondered if there is any smaller, also got a fidlock one that is fine.. Just wondering if there is anything bigger than the fidlock in capacity that might squeeze in.

Not really answering the question here, but giving an alternative...

Do you really need a bigger bottle? Unless you are going for a monster 1.5l one, you are probably only looking at adding 150-200ml with a bigger one.

I just have a few extra gulps before setting off, and put one of those flexible soft runners bottles in a pocket. They are about 250ml. Drink that first. Once empty they take up about as much space as a tissue.

This sort of thing

The Blackburn outpost corner bag fits perfectly in the front triangle of my XL frame.

I don't know how to post photos but if you pm me your number I could WhatsApp some

elite fly is 160ish to the top of the cap. bit more in the centre with the spout.

they do a junior one as well which is a smaller diameter cage and only 350ml bottle.

Aether 7 with wedge, more inline with shock and slightly lower. Just misses the lever on the shock. Obviously less space with a piggy back.
