have not a clue how to do it tbh (i did try and look up how to do it but it seemed overly complex what i read).
is there an easy method to plotting a route on the garmin?

I use the Garmin Connect website and then click 'Send to device '. Easy enough.

Was going to say the same, I make routes in Connect or download from places like Komoot and transfer. I've never tried to build a route on the 520 head unit! I think it would drive me nuts
