I reckon I need to tighten my centrelock disc mount hubs, as theres a bit of forward/backward play when the brakes are applied.

I'm a bit confused as to which tool I require to actually tighten these -

Both say the same thing to me but are different in both cost and design.

I've got the Planet X Shimano XT reetard 29er wheelset

I've noticed that the rivets on centrelock disks sometime allow a bit of play (even when the centrelock is tight) usually on old and worn-out wheels.

Either tool should work on the fitting, I personally prefer the one without the prong in the middle, more versatile.

Either will fit - the proper shimano one with the long peg part is much better as it won't slip off when you're tightening the lockring.

£17 for a lockring tool!!! 😮

Blimey...

I bought a whole bike related toolbox for £18 a year or two ago from Aldi.

Think they used to be about £5 for the lockring tool...
