Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and managed to fix it. Been getting s numb left foot while biking. Played with different saddles and different shoes, tried a bike fit and that hasn't helped.
Happens both on road and MTB so not limited to just one bike, wondering if it's a circulation problem ? So could compression socks help ?
Any advice would be welcome

My right foot has been numb since Christmas due to sciatica - any pain or tightness down the back of the leg?

Obviously, I have no knowledge of your own circumstances, but I used to get a numb little toe on my right foot - sounds like a small thing, but it was absolutely crippling when it happened. Annoyingly, it rarely happened on a <50 mile ride, so it was really hard to get to the bottom of it.

In the end, I did a couple of things (without any professional advice to back it up, it must be said!):

1. Swapped to wider shoes (Sidi "Mega" - wonderful things) and/or generally went up a size from where I had been before.
2. Switched to SPD-SL on the road

In the end, I think a combination of the two sorted it. I was probably over-thinking my shoes and trying to get the fit perfect in the shop, with the result that once my feet warmed up and expanded, they became too tight. I now buy shoes a touch on the large side and avoid narrow ones, like Shimano. SPD-SL helped too as the larger cleat area seems to reduce pressure on the ball of the foot.

Haven't had a numb toe for months now 🙂

I had the same, fixed it with a combination of clear position, Specialized insoles and SPD-SL’a on the road. Stiff, wide shoes are also a must.

MTB is flat pedals and 5.10s and the road is road 3 bolt cleats with fizik and then I've tried some lake shoes as they were supposed to be a wider fit.

I might try thinner socks as the foot expanding makes sense

Numbness is caused by irritation or trapped nerve rather than circulation. I’m trying yoga to relieve my symptoms. Numb down the leg and sole of the foot. Was due an injection of the nerve at the spine before Covid

Google "Mortons neuroma" - may have some helpful advice there...

Morton's neuroma is a possibility but unlikely. I've never fixed my numb foot, it likely stems from the piriformis problems I have in that side. Tried all combinations of shoes pedals insoles, the only thing that really helps is core strength exercises.
Manifests as numb toes, when riding the outer ones begin to burn after a few hours (less in hot weather) until the pain forces me to get off the bike, get the shoe off and rest for a bit. That resets it for a bit. Now I don't tend to do long races it's not a massive problem but I have noticed it on long runs too.

I used to get numb feet, regardless of shoes or pedals, clips, flats, SPD.

I think it's stopped now, or I just ignore it...maybe my nerves adjusted?
