We will be in touch
Anyone got one or have experience of one? I'm in the market and was all set for a Nomad/Bronson but LBS suggested one of these. Spec looks amazing for the cost. Anyone got a real useful opinion please? I wanna make sure my hard earned isn't wasted. Thanks.
I own a 2013 AM. I think the frames are almost identical bar the change to 650b in 2014.
Although my build is heavy for some reason it's the most comfortable bike I own to pedal. It's also a pretty bomb proof frame and very well constructed.
Can't say I wouldn't be tempted by a carbon Nomad to reduce the weight but otherwise you can't go wrong with a Mega AM.
i have a mega am 650b 2014 in Large which im selling, either as frame only or maybe as a complete bike if you are interested,
i also have a mega am 26 maybe for sale if you prefer the geometry of the 26?

Great bike, owned and raced for 18 months.
The 2014 model, for the money, was one of the best bikes out there. Now, not so much...With so many direct sales companies, and other manufacturers offering very good bikes at a similar price, it's not so clear cut as an obvious choice.
It's on the heavy side, i would say mine is 34lbs, compare that to a mates canyon stive at 28lbs, and thats a big difference. However, it's like a small DH bike, and ploughs through most stuff.
The frame has been faultless, with only the shock bushing needing replacing every 2/3 months.
I have the 2014 26' model, it weighs in at 30lbs but pedals much lighter, it seems the longer I have it the more I love it! im the only limitation of this bike, so I personally would only go to the much more expensive brands like SC if I had soooo much money that my pocket wouldn't feel it.
my mega has been battered uphill and down dale and still looks and feels like a new bike 🙂 Hth
Been guiding full-time on a Mega AM for the past 2 seasons. Great bikes, as good as anything I've ever ridden and better than most. Pedal pretty well and superb downhill. Not had any problems with reliability other than minor bushing/bearing stuff which is the same on any full-sus.
They're not the lightest, but they're tough and reliable.
Hi Steve, i just got back from the tour of mont blanc on mine, couldnt have been better bike wise. Were you on 26 ers or 650B
Thanks guys. I'm all set to buy one tmrw after chatting to Mark and Michael at Fosters cycles today. Great lads. Very helpful. I appreciate you guys on here taking the time to respond. Many thanks.
I was until someone mentioned YT and their new Capra AL1.
£1k less for a better spec and lighter too.
CRC has a 2014 AM Pro though for a bargain £2k if you're quick
Lester, we were on 650b. Glad the TMB went well for you!
Hammy. I too liked the look of the YT. It's hard to ignore tbh. A real weapon. I was however put off with reports of difficulties with communication and times slipping in the order process. YT make fantastic bikes by the looks of it and the value can't be denied, but the lack of one to one contact with a LBS put me off. That's MY insecurities I'm afraid. I collect my Mega AM Pro this afternoon. Best of luck with the YT. I'd love to see it when it lands.
True but for me - a £1.2k saving over the AM went a massive way to resolving that for me!
With virtually nothing to upgrade on the AL1 either that means another bike for the Better half 😉
There were quite a few YT's at the QECO Enduro apparently.
Valid point you make buddy. Weirdly I've already made a massive saving in my mind as I was all set to buy a Bronson with same spec as my new Mega. That monkey was £2200 more for the equivalent set up. I'm sure it would've been brilliant but with the change I've saved, we've booked 2 weeks in Egypt 5 stars. Lol. Happy wife, happy me. Winner. Let me know wht you think to the YT. I'm not ruling one out in the future. Feedback would be very useful.
