Friend’s son’s freehub on the nukeprrof wheels (commencal meta) is knackered - cassette rocks back and forward as it has cut into the splines
Are there any alternatives to the nukeproof freehub - it’s shimano 12 speed but not microspline
You'll need a Nukeproof freehub for it - unless you can find out who makes them.
If you replace ensure that the lock ring is sufficiently torqued and put anti-seize or grease on the splines.
Thanks - thought so. £50….
What cassette is it?
Might be worth putting a better quality cassette too.
Does it need replaced?
Hope Pro2 aluminium freehubs always used to dig in horribly and you had to rotate the individual sprockets to get them to come off the freewheel. They looked awful but would go on for years like this.
If the sprockets are loose enough to rock backwards and forwards, it sounds like the lock ring isn't tight enough.
That’s a good point euain - I’ll check!
Check for any required shims or spaces for the cassette on that hub.
