Hi guys! Recently I have taken exceeding interest in the NS Surge 2 2012 frame and am interested to purchase one from CRC anytime soon. However, there seems to be 2 problems I've encountered! Please help!

1. SIZING ISSUES: I'm around 5 feet 8½ inches and my inseam is 31½ inches. Which frame do I get, M or L? On the NS-bikes website, it says " M 381mm / 15” (fit’s like 16.5” MTB), L 405mm / 16” (fit's like 17.5” MTB) ". What does it mean?

2. SEATPOST ISSUES: I've read some old reviews and it seems that the frame's short seat-tube only allows a minimal length of the seat-post to be inserted. Regarding that problem and my height and inseam, what length of seat-post should I purchase?

(PS: If it helps, I plan to use my bike for singletrack, some downhill and hucking and long rides. So seat-post length should be reasonable to allow for proper leg extension on long rides, but lowered abit for harsher rides I think?? )

Owners, ex-owners and everyone welcome to discuss! Many thanks!

I would get a large as I'm 5ft 9 and I have a lot of seatpost showing ! Also get a 410mm in length

i am 5ft 8 1/2 and i have the medium 2011. the 2011 is 15 1/2 inch (said to fit like a 17 inch mtb) though. not sure why they changed it. the fit of my 15 1/2 is perfect. the geometry of the bike is spot on and it rides really well. i use it for all day rides, trail centres and for DH. it is quite stiff for a steel frame but it is built take anything without being overweight.
i have got a x fusion hilo seatpost in the standard the standard length and its fine, with another 1 1/2 inch to go to reach the max out mark.
the standover height feels great on the really low frame.
i also run a 50mm stem and the top tube feels plenty long enough. roughly the same as my 17 1/2 inch marin wolf ridge if not slightly longer!

Ignore seat tube length and exposed seat post, go by TT length.

The difference in tt length is minimal from med to lrg.

Im 5"10 have a med frame, 400mm seatpost, 50mm stem, 760mm bars, pike u-turns

I could do with an extra inch of seatpost for full leg extension when pedalling.
But otherwise its spot on.

So if you're 5'8 1/2" I would expect it to fit you fine. Seat at max extension for peddling, drop it down for jumps.

Hope this helps
